DMPQ-Write a short note on Nirbhaya Fund.
It is a dedicated fund set up by Ministry of Finance,in 2013, for implementation of initiatives aimed atenhancing the safety and security for women inthe country. It is a non-lapsable corpus fund.Ministry of Women and Child Development is thenodal Ministry to appraise schemes under NirbhayaFund and also to review and monitor the progressof sanctioned Schemes in conjunction with the lineMinistries/Departments.
Central Victim Compensation Fund has beencreated under Nirbhaya, which is a corpus fund tosupport States/UTs for their Victim CompensationScheme. This helps in
ensuring adequate andtimely support for women survivors of crime andviolence.
