Uttarakhand’s October GST haul up by 28%, 7th highest in India
Compared to a Goods and Services Tax (GST) collection of Rs 1,259 crore in October 2021,UttarakhandleviedGSTworth Rs 1,613 crore during the same period this year, registering a 28% Growth that placed it at the seventh position among all states surveyed for GST collection in October 2022.
This is the state’s second highest ever GST collection. The state collected GST worth Rs 1,887 crore in April this year.
According to the data released by the Centre for GST revenue collection across the country, Uttarakhand outperformed nine comparatively bigger states — Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar and Andhra Pradesh.
Ladakh notched the top position with 74% growth followed by Arunachal Pradesh (39%) and Haryana (37%).
The country’s gross GST revenue collected in October 2022 stood at Rs 151,718 crore.

National Mission for Clean Ganga Organizes Ganga Utsav – The River Festival
National Mission for Clean Ganga (NMCG) organized Ganga Utsav – The River Festival 2022 on 4thNovember at New Delhi in two sessions.
Ganga Utsav 2022 is dedicated to theAzadi ka Amrit Mahotsavthat is being observed to commemorate the 75 years of Indian Independence. As Ganga Utsav 2022 is held in the 75thyear of independence, it is planned to have 75 separate events in Ganga and its tributary basin cities and towns, by August 2023, 3-day events in 15 major cities like Haridwar, Mathura, Delhi, Kanpur, Varanasi, Patna, Bhagalpur, Kolkata etc., 1-day events in 60 smaller towns/cities, in which local and pan-India culture based events will be promoted.
Army approves five niche tech projects for development by domestic industry
The Army has approved five Project Sanction Orders (PSOs) for development of Niche technology by the Indian under Make-II route of DEFENCE procurement. The projects include High Frequency Man Packed Software Defined Radios (HFSDR), drone kill systems, Infantry Training Weapon Simulator (IWTS), Medium Range Precision Kill Systems (MRPKS) and 155mm Terminally Guided Munitions (TGM).
Make II projects are essentially industry funded projects involving design, development and innovative solutions by Indian vendors for development of prototypes. An assurance of order is given after successful prototype development.
