Health Minister Dhan Singh Rawat has said that there is a tremendous potential for pharmaceutical industries in Uttarakhand and the State can become leading State in the country in this discipline.

He was addressing a programme organised by Association of Devbhoomi Pharma Industries here on Wednesday. Rawat said that pharma can play a vital role in strengthening the Health Services and for this the people associated with this industry and government should work in tandem.

He said that there is a big demand for the safe, effective and high quality medicines at national and international levels and in such a scenario the pharma industry of the state has a golden opportunity at hand. On the problems associated with the industry the minister assured the members of the association that all their issues would be resolved. He said that soon a high level meeting would be convened in which the office bearers of the association and the officers concerned with the pharma industry would be invited so that the problems are resolved on the spot.

He said that the department officers have been directed to ensure uninterrupted power supply to the pharma units, provide land for setting up common drug testing lab, provide necessary concessions in

purchase of alcohol for synthesis of sanitisers and treatment and disposal of the harmful waste generated by the industrial units with the approved agency of the pollution board.

National and International Affairs

The technology of old treatment facilities will be replaced and modernised. Industries that dump rubbish into the Yamuna will be closed down.

Tribal Affairs Ministry and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) jointly launched online certificate course on Experiential Learning. This programme will be deployed for 350 educators across 6 states.

Experiential learning seeks to help teachers establish tribal students connect with their real-life experiences and own contexts.

Though, the tribal students studying in EMRS are first generation learners. But creativity is inherent amongst them.

Creativity, risk-taking and enterprise are some of the attributes which naturally get unleashed in their life-cycle.

The programme will be of great service for the development of tribal education, which is having exponential impact on the way EMRS schools emerge as model schools in near future.

Ministry of coal has constituted a Cell, in line with the commitment of clean energy.

The Sustainable Development Cell was constituted in the backdrop of Prime Ministers announcement on new Climate targets at COP26 under Panchamrit Strategy.

Ministry emphasised on to put major thrust on Sustainable Development in coal mining, by taking care of the environmental and social impact of the mining.

Ministry of coal has established a full-fledged Sustainable Development Cell (SDC) to mentor, advice, and plan action of minimising adverse impact of mining.

It will also formulate future policy framework for environmental mitigation in Coal sector as well as Lignite sector in India.

Coal India Ltd. (CIL) and its subsidiaries along with NLC India Ltd., & Singareni Coal Company Ltd. (SCCL) has already started the extensive work.

He also pledged that by 2025, the Yamuna River will be safe to drink and bathe in.

The Delhi government has also begun de-silting and repair of the sewage system.

Six Point Action Plan:

Delhi has committed to cleaning up the Yamuna by 2025.

Arvind Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister, recently committed to entirely clean the Yamuna River by 2025.

New Satellite Launched By China – Gaofen-11 03

China launched a new satellite titled “Gaofen-11 03” from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre on 20 November.

Highlights:

The Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre is in Shanxi’s northern region.

A Long March-4B rocket was used to launch the satellite.

It successfully entered the intended orbit.

The satellite was launched on the 397th launch of the Long March series carrier rockets.

Gaofen

Gaofen is a Chinese series of high-resolution Earth imaging satellites that are utilised for the government-sponsored China High-resolution Earth Observation System (CHEOS).

Gaofen 1, the first satellite of the Gaofen series, was launched in 2013. Gaofen-11 03 is a Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) Earth observation satellite.

It was successfully separated in the Sun-synchronous orbit.
