CM interacts with various fraternities ahead of Assembly budget session
In order to strengthen the State’s economy, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami interacted with representatives of those in agriculture, horticulture, industry, business and other groups on Sunday. He said that an attempt will be made to include the suggestions received during the interaction in the coming budget.
Stressing on the importance of public participation in development, Dhami said that there are limited job opportunities in the government sector so self employment will have to be made into a movement. He said that joint efforts are needed for action on suggestions and solutions. He said that the government is also working on suggestions from national and international experts for integrated development of Uttarakhand. Recalling that he also spends the night at homestays while touring districts, the CM said that homestays are becoming sources of self employment and economic development in rural areas. “We have rivers like the Ganga, Yamuna, Kali and Sharda with 71 per cent of our geographical area covered by forests and mountains. Every area is a destination in our State. We are trying to move forward with our rich heritage,” said Dhami.
Pact on ‘air information sharing’ soon: US secretary of Air Force
 India and the US are now working to finalise an “air information sharing agreement”, even as they explore opportunities under the Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) for co-development and co-production of high-tech weapon systems as well as the much broader Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET).
India and the US signed the Basic Exchange and Cooperation Agreement for Geospatial Cooperation (BECA) in 2020, the Communications, Compatibility and Security Arrangement (COMCASA) in 2018, the Logistics Exchange Memorandum of Agreement (LEMOA) in 2016 and the General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA) in 2002.
Changi Airport awarded World’s Best Airport 2023 
Singapore’s Changi Airport has been titled the World’s Best Airport for the year 2023 and it has been winning for 8 continuous years.
Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport also won the Best Airport in India and South Asia award.
Skytrax, a UK-based consultancy company publishes reviews and survey reports every year.
India joins global ‘Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate’
U.S. and UAE collectively launched the ‘Agriculture Innovation Mission for Climate’ AIM4C in November 2021. India also joined the global platform.
The aim was to strengthen investment and provide support for climate-smart agriculture and food systems innovation, as stated by the US Department of state.
This initiative has resulted in the rise of investments to USD 8 billion at a global level. India has joined with as many as 275 partners out of which 42 are governments who are working together to accelerate the mission.
Use of nano urea can reduce fertiliser subsidy bill by Rs 25K annually
The standing committee report on ‘Nano-Fertilisers for Sustainable Crop production and Maintaining Soil Health’ has raised concerns over the excessive use of conventional urea and continuous increase in its import of urea over the years, which rose from 5.5 million tonnes (MTs) in 2016-17 to 9.8 MTs in 2020-21, the panel has said the subsidy burden on account of urea import constitutes 26% of the overall urea subsidy paid in a year by the government.
The panel has also recommended the government to put in place a system to sell one bottle of nano urea and four bags of urea to farmers instead of five bags of the conventional soil nutrient. It has recommended the government for more use of drones for spraying nano urea.
RBI, UAE’s Central Bank signs MoU to promote Innovation
The Reserve Bank of India and the Central Bank of UAE jointly sign an official agreement for encouraging Innovation in financial products and services.
Central Banks will altogether survey the Central Bank Digital Currencies and will also draw comparability between the CBDCs of CBUAE and RBI.
Pilot tests will be held to provide cross-border transactions. Through this initiative, the economic ties will deepen between India and UAE.
Northeast Railways sets up First Trans Tea Stall
The Northeast Frontier Railways (NEFR) combined with the All Assam Transgender Association recently opened a tea shop led by transgender people located at Guwahati station.
As a part of the government’s “Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas”, the railway stall was inaugurated by the General Manager of NEFR, Mr Anshul Gupta on March 05, 2023.
It will not only create employment opportunities for trans and queer communities but will also empower, support and elevate them among all members of society.
