UTTARAKHAND

 

CM gives nod to various departmental schemes

Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat granted approval to various departmental works. The CM approved Rs 631.69 lakh worth of works of the Public Works Department (PWD) including tarring of Bairatkhai-Jandeu-Gagron motor road in Chakrata assembly constituency and improvement of the Bijau-Kuitha-Khatar motor road in Kalsi development block.

He also granted Rs 119.34 lakh financial approval for construction of motor road from Bigradi to Kanda at Naugaon under Purola assembly constituency under the PWD’s SCSP. Financial approval was also granted to Rs 341.17 lakh work of constructing Uchna-Dahchal motor road from Katmun bridge in Jakholi area of Rudraprayag assembly constituency.

Under the cooperatives department, approval has been granted under supplementary demand to Rs four crore for 40 new branches of district cooperative bank in 2020-21. Similarly, under the drinking water department, the CM has granted approval to various works in pursuance of the chief minister’s announcements.

Under the Jal Jeevan mission, Rawat granted approval to releasing Rs 734.772 lakh against Rs 5878.18 lakh spent. Under the irrigation department in the current financial year, Rs 391.08 lakh financial approval was granted for project for renovation of Phika barrage at Tumaria and Tumaria extension dam in Jaspur.

The CM also granted financial approval to the Rs 177.59 lakh recommended for development of tourism destination centre in Pithoragarh. Under basic education, Rawat granted Rs 493.35 lakh financial approval for reconstruction of 17 schools and other works.

He also granted Rs 27 crore financial approval for various works under higher education department and Rs 594 lakh financial approval for salary wage under technical education department. For construction works aimed at welfare of scheduled caste, scheduled tribe and other backward class, the CM granted financial approval to Rs 235.59 lakh. For steel girder bridge on Ranipur lake in Haridwar under Kumbh Mela works, the CM granted Rs 918.30 lakh financial approval along with Rs 751.94 lakh financial approval or various necessary arrangements to be made for the travelers. Rawat also granted approval for various works under different departments.

World Kidney Day is on 11th March

World Kidney Day is celebrated on the second Thursday of March every year. The kidney is an important organ in our body. The function of the kidney is to remove waste and excess fluid from the body. In 2021 it is on 11th March. Highlights:

In 2006, 66 countries/regions around the world celebrated World Kidney Day for the first time, and an increase of 88 in two years. The World Kidney Day was initiated by the joint committee of the International Society of Nephrology and the International Federation of Kidney Foundations. Every year, the health organization celebrates its prevention of kidney disease and educates people on preventive measures and how to live a healthy life. In addition, the health organization organizes campaigns to disseminate information about kidney diseases, complications, and their prevention and treatment.

NATIONAL

India to introduce INS Karanj

 

INS Karanj served in the Indian Navy.

 

About INS Karanj:

 

This is the third stealth Scorpene class submarine to be introduced to the Navy.

 

This is the third submarine of the first six Kalvari-class submarines of the Indian Navy.

 

INS Karanj will become part of the Western Naval Command’s submarine fleet and will become another important part of the Command’s arsenal.

 

It is based on the Scorpène class diesel-electric attack submarine, designed by the French naval defense and energy group DCNS, and manufactured by the shipyard Mazagon Dock Limited in Mumbai, India.

 

INS Karanj is part of Project 75.

 

Project 75 is an indigenous project aimed at building 6 attack submarines for the Indian Navy.

 

This $3.75 billion project is supported by the Department of Defense, which is part of the Ministry of Defence. The French Naval Group applied its technical expertise to the project.

 

Cabinet Approved Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi

 

The Cabinet approved the creation of Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi (PMSSN). About Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi

 

The Cabinet has approved Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Nidhi as a single non-lapsable reserve fund for the health share of the proceeds from the Health and Education Cess.

 

It is a non-lapsable reserve fund for health in public accounts.

 

The health benefits shared in “Health and Education Cess” will be recorded in the PMSSN.

 

The accrued expenses of PMSSN will be used for the following flagship schemes of the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare:

 

Ayushman Bharat – Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana

 

Ayushman Bharat – Health and Wellness Centres

 

National Health Mission

 

Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY)

 

Emergency and disaster preparedness and response in health emergencies

 

Any future schemes/programs aimed at achieving the Sustainable Development Goals and the goals set in the National Health Policy (NHP) in 2017.

 

The main benefit of the scheme will be to increase access to universal and affordable health care by providing dedicated resources, while ensuring that this amount is not lost at the end of the financial year.

National Action Plan for Containment of Antimicrobial Resistance

NAP-AMR was launched in April 2017. This programe is coordinated by the National Centers for Disease Control (NCDC). The overall goal of the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (NAP-AMR) is to effectively combat antimicrobial resistance in India and contribute to global efforts to address this public health threat. Objectives:

 

Determine strategic priorities, key actions, outputs, responsibilities, and indicative timetables and budgets to slow the emergence of Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) in India, and strengthen the organization and management structure to ensure that the ” One Health approach ” is adopted within and between departments Coordination

 

Through a better understanding and understanding of antimicrobial resistance, fighting antimicrobial resistance in India, strengthening infection surveillance, preventing the emergence and spread of drug-resistant bacteria by preventing and controlling infections, and optimizing the use of antibiotics in all sectors, and increase investment in antimicrobial resistance activities, research and innovation; and

 

Based on the M&E framework, monitor and evaluate the implementation of NAP-AMR (M&E).
